BEST GAME OUT THERE!
5 / 5.0
Nothing beats War3FT. Best game out there for customizing games. You're buying Warcraft, but you have the potential to turn it into any game you want. Great buy.

Exciting challenge...
4 / 5.0
I enjoy the depth that this game offers. It is fairly simple but not too easy. I enjoy the different unit types available and the heroes throw in a great aspect of game play not found in most real-time strategy games.

Bought it to play DotA.
3 / 5.0
I loved the original warcraft and dislike change. The new races and changes didn't interest me. Bought this to play the custom game called Defense of the Ancients with friends.

Great if more info on game purchase

This game is super fun and i love to play it, however it would of been nice to know that I needed the Reign of Chaos first to install, so for future referances, possibly stick "you need Reign of Chaos in order to install and absolutly enjoy Frozen Throne", something like that.

Other than that its a great game to play

Marvelous expansion to the original
5 / 5.0
For those who have Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos, Frozen Throne is a must have. It has new heroes, including mercenary heroes, new neutral buildings, new map tilesets, a vastly improved World Editor, many many new units and upgrades, and an upgraded [...]. If you have Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos, you'll love Frozen Throne.

$25 for a chunk of plastic!?!?!?!?!?!
1 / 5.0
Not only does Sony not include a verticle stand for the PS3 in the box or design the system so that it can go either way like the Xbox 360 can without an attachment. But the have the gaul to make one and charge $25 !@#$ing dollars for it. This is absurd. Shame on you Sony. Way to kick your customers in the groin after they shell out $300+ for one of your systems. If you're going to not include an attachment that probably most of your customers would like that costs nearly nothing to make at least be reasonable and charge enough to make a tiny profit without gouging people.

I'll be waiting for a third party solution at a reasonable price.

WAY TO EXPENSIVE....
1 / 5.0
Since i bought my Playstation 3 slim i have been waiting for the vertical stand to be released, but now that Sony made it available they price it at $24.99!!! Even at the $22.99 lowered price it's higher than the $19.49 price for the Blu-Ray remote. Hey Sony, were not talking about a high tec device here, it's just a piece of plastic.

Editorial Review
The Dreamcast system is, in a word, awesome. Fire up Soul Calibur, and instantly you'll appreciate that the graphics and gameplay are even better than in the arcade version. And Sonic Adventure, with its light-speed gameplay, is sure to wow even the most jaded gamer.

It's amazing that such a small machine (it's about the size of your mouse pad) can deliver such incredible performance. Chalk it up to superior engineering. Dreamcast's only downside is that it comes with only one controller and a demo disc. In order to truly take advantage of Dreamcast's capabilities, we recommend outfitting the controller with a Jump Pack and a Visual Memory Unit. Getting one or more extra controllers is also a good idea, because some of the best Dreamcast games support up to four players at once.

Why it's so cool:

  • Ultramodern components: Custom-made video, audio, and processor technology blows away the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation and puts Dreamcast in the same league as PS2 and XBox.
  • Integrated modem: In another video-game first, Dreamcast comes with a 56K modem. Use your regular Internet service provider and the separately sold keyboard to access e-mail, shopping, and the World Wide Web. Not only can you upload high scores, participate in chat discussions, and download updates and enhancements for your games, but, through a membership to the SegaNet Internet service provider, you can play Quake III Arena, NFL 2K1, and other games against Dreamcast owners over the Internet.
  • The Visual Memory Unit (VMU): More than just a memory card, the VMU is a miniature portable game system that fits inside a controller--so its LCD screen is easily seen by you but hidden from your opponent.
  • All-in-one entertainment: It plays games. It plays audio CDs. It connects to the Internet and lets you browse the Web or e-mail friends. Our note to the cost-conscious: If you have a Dreamcast system, you just don't need a separate CD player or a separate computer. Dreamcast does it all, and does it well.

What my grand kids love
3 / 5.0
I had purchase one before and getting this one for my grandkids was just as good has my dreamcast

Fast forward
5 / 5.0
Sure after reading your reviews from 2000.....9 years later dreamcast is dead. Sure it was an awesome system and had an untimely demise but ps2 certainly surprassed this system and now we are in the next/ next generation of consoles. I loved Shenmue and sonic adventure but for some reason this system didnt take off. Ashame too....

Sega's Best System Ever!
5 / 5.0
Well, I'm a little embarrassed to say that I just got a Dreamcast about a week ago,but still have vivid memories of all the commercials that were played and watching my babysitter at the time play it constantly until the PS2 came out. I'm going to review the system in parts because there is just so much to cover that it needs to be broken down.

The System: The Dreamcast itself is very small,it's not as long as the original PS1 but it sits a little bit higher. Overall it looks very nice,Pictures don't do it justice,it needs to be seen in person. The Dreamcast's power light is also very unique, instead of being the usual green color, its orange (it's supposedly a very lucky color in Japan.) It also has 4 controller ports, and the usual hookup plugs in the back.

The Controller: The controller is sort of a hit and miss,it looks really cool. But it's lacking in the button department,it has 4 face buttons, one analog stick,D-pad,and 2 triggers. Now the problem is the Dreamcast controller needed either another analog stick or 2 more shoulder buttons. I have a very good feeling if the Dreamcast would have been in the market longer it would have seen a redesigned controller. Not the worst controller, but not the best,It gets bonus points for possibly being the coolest looking controller I've seen.

The Visual Memory Unit (VMU): The VMU is quite possibly the most unique memory card I have ever seen,it has a screen a D-Pad,sleep button, mode button, and 2 face buttons. While your playing a game it displays either what game your playing, your health,or to choose plays in football, every game does different things. Some games even have mini games you can download onto the VMU. There are some downsides to the VMU and the number one thing is battery life,it takes 2 watch batteries that cost $5 a piece, here is the kicker, they don't last long at all! It would have been smarter to just make the VMU use 2 AA batteries instead, they are much cheaper and would have probably lasted longer (rechargeable would have lasted much longer). And the number 2 downside is the memory on the card is small! Only 200KB available for use (there is a way to unlock 44KB more) if your playing a sport game it can take as much as 164KB! Most games will only use 4-60KB's depending.

Games:This is a high point for the DC,at the time it had some of the best games for all genres listing them all would take up way to much space. It is unfortunate that most of the Dreamcasts best games have been ported to either PS2,Xbox,or GC. But there is something about playing the original that makes the games seem so much better on Dreamcast. I'm going to list the pros and cons of the system:

Pros:

+You can still buy NEW Dreamcasts for $100

+Controllers/VMU's are a dime a dozen

+Games are cheap and can still be bought NEW

+Very nice design

+Reliable as long as you play legit software (Tip:CD-R's will burn out your Dreamcast laser)

+Awesome memory card

Cons:

-VMU's use expensive batteries that don't last

-Controller needs more buttons

It's Still Thinking...
5 / 5.0
When I originally saw Sega's stellar Dreamcast in action, the day it launched on September 9, 1999, I remember thinking that console gaming had finally matured and arrived in grand style. Up to that point in time, no previous video game system had the polygonal pumping power or blazing speed of Sega's Dreamcast hardware to produce the spectacular and wondrous visuals that countless people around the globe had been enjoying for years in arcades. Though Nintendo's 64-bit behemoth, along with Sony's colossally popular Playstation were very admirable machines with extremely solid and respectable game libraries, neither came swaggering out of the corner, swinging furiously, or packed a punch nearly as powerful like the Dreamcast; which set a new standard in the industry. While classic launch titles like `Soul Calibur', `Sonic Adventure', `Power Stone', `Crazy Taxi', `Hydro Thunder', `Marvel vs. Capcom: New Age of Heroes' and `NFL 2K' showcased the Dreamcasts impressive, jaw dropping, mouth watering graphical capabilities, it was another launch title by Sega, `Chu Chu Rocket' that reminded the world what helped make the Dreamcast an important part of gaming history. Granted you had to subscribe to SegaNet to take advantage of this heralded feature, but now a person was not only able surf the World Wide Web with their Sega Dreamcast, using the included browser disc and integrated 56k modem, but could also play games online; a realm that was previously exclusive to P.C. gamers. Sega's console is a rock solid and attractive unit that is pleasing to behold and was built to last a long time. The Dreamcast controller is similarly well designed and assembled. It's comfortable to handle for numerous hours, making it a perfect for weekend long gaming marathons. The buttons are well laid out and colorful, opposite of the analog thumb stick, which is positioned above the D-pad, with index finger triggers on the underside. It also has two expansion slots to accommodate accessories like `Visual Memory Units', and a `Rumble Pack'. The only strange thing about the Dreamcast's controller is that the cord is connected at the bottom, but can conveniently be secured forward on the underside of the unit. The `Visual Memory Unit' resembles a miniaturized version of Nintendo's original Gameboy, with a monochrome LCD screen, positioned above the D-pad, which was next to the `Start', `Select' `A', and B' buttons. Not only could this little marvel save vital game data, but it could enhance them in numerous ways too. This could be a mini game, like `Pinta's Quest' on `Skies of Arcadia' or displaying play calls on Sega's awesome 2K sport games. Sega had a smash hit on its hands with the Dreamcast, but it wouldn't have been worth anything if there wasn't quality software that took advantage of the systems powerful, cutting edge hardware that was genuinely enjoyable to play. Luckily, the Dreamcast amassed an admirable collection of classic and beloved games to build a strong library that proudly endures today. The previously mentioned titles are only a brief taste of the hours of fun and adventure that awaits the owner of a Sega Dreamcast. Other classic platters like: `Grandia II', `Jet Grind Radio', `Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver', `Phantasy Star Online', `Space Channel 5', `Shenmue' , `Metropolis Street Racer', `Virtual Tennis' and countless other great games are waiting to be discovered on the Sega Dreamcast. Nearly a decade since it debuted in North America, it's still thinking, keeping a firm hold of gamer's hearts and imaginations.

I really wanted to find a dreamcast system for my son and found it on amazon. It came very quickly and I'm told that it's in great shape.

This is my first Guitar Hero game that I have tried and I like it, very fun to play.

I think it is a great value at the price the amazon sells this bundle for.

Very easy to pick up the game has lessons and a wide Variety of songs to choose from.

    addictive

I purchased this game to use when the kids and grandkids come over. Now I cant stop playing it. I even went all in and ordered the new Beatles Rock Band just to add to our fun.

    Awesome Bundle, Thank You Amazon!
    5 / 5.0
I got to admit this is one of the best deals on amazon.com. They give you Guitar Hero 3 game(all items new), a wireless guitar w/ batteries, and other stuff(stickers, designs, etc.) for only 35$. If you try and buy a wireless guitar alone it will cost you 40-70$, so a deal like this is not one to pass up if anyone is looking for a new or extra guitar(the best Guitar Hero controller IMO).

Thank you Amazon, thats one hell of a deal.

    Great game!
    5 / 5.0
My kids love it!! They've been playing it just about everyday of the summer. Great songs!!

    Good value, game's ok, too.
    5 / 5.0
I bought this game just for the guitar, basically. If you buy a wireless guitar separate it is much more expensive (which I do not understand at all). I was pre-ordering Guitar Hero:Metallica so I could not get with the controller bundled, but I was guitar-less. So looking on the compatibility chart, this guitar works with GHM, with a bonus game that sounded ok... so I played this game for a couple days waiting for GHM to get delivered and after that let it gather dust. The guitar works great!

Red Alert 3 asks the question "What If?" What if every bizarre research project and technology experiment for the last 70 years had actually borne fruit? What if the Philadelphia Experiment, time travel theory, teleportation, invisibility, Tesla technology, and a hundred other intriguing research projects had all paid off and gone mainstream? What if the Soviet Union survived and thrived; what would it look like 10 years in the future? What if the Japanese Empire had never fallen and instead became the ultimate high-tech military superpower? The end result is an imaginative and playful vision of an alternate future filled with possibility. The desperate leadership of a doomed Soviet Union travels back in time to change history and restore the glory of Mother Russia. The time travel mission goes awry, creating an alternate timeline where technology has followed an entirely different evolution, a new superpower has been thrust on to the world stage, and World War III is raging. The Empire of the Rising Sun has risen in the East, making World War III a three-way struggle between the Soviets, the Allies, and the Empire with armies fielding wacky and wonderful weapons and technologies like Tesla coils, heavily armed War Blimps, teleportation, armored bears, intelligent dolphins, floating island fortresses, and transforming tanks.

In previous games, the war between the Allies and Soviets was coming to a close with the Allies nearing victory. In desperation, the Soviets created a time-travel device that they've used to assassinate Albert Einstein before he is able to develop the weapon technology the Allies later use to defeat the Soviets. Upon returning, they notice a new world, and there is a world war taking place between three groups for control of the world.

Red Alert 3 continues Command and Conquer's tradition of using live-action video scenes to tell the story. Presented in beautiful, high-definition video, Red Alert 3 features of an hour of footage with the largest cast ever assembled in the franchise. Play As Three Different Factions for Varied game play
In Red Alert 3, you have the choice to play as the Allies, the Soviets, or the Empire of the Rising Sun. Each faction has its own story-line and distinct units with advantages and disadvantages that you have to master in order to win. The new faction to the series is the Empire of the Rising Sun, derived from Imperial Japan, with an all-new cast of units and characters.

The three factions have many differences, which is exemplified by their wildly different types of units. The Soviets, for example, have armored attack bears, Allies have the Dolphin ship which can high jump and use a sonic attack, and the Empire of the Rising Sun features such quirky units as a giant transforming mecha and ninjas. As they've done with the series, EA injects humor into the game when possible, keeping a smile on your face as you wage war.

Fight on Land, in the Air, and on Sea
Red Alert 3 has land units, air units, and naval units, all integral parts of the game. Unlike most strategy games that don't bother with naval warfare, Red Alert 3 makes controlling the seas an essential part of the game. Controlling resources in the seas and mounting attacks from all directions are strategies that must be employed to achieve victory.

Cooperative Mode Lets You Team Up with Your Friends
Red Alert 3 has a fully co-operative campaign mode where you and a friend can play together to achieve victory. This means that you have to develop a strategy together, as well as execute it in synch in order to win. If your friends aren't online, you can also choose one of several AI commanders as your teammate.

Play Against Your Friends in Multiplayer
With the different units and play mechanics of each faction, you and your friends will have a great time playing against each other, perfecting different strategies to best suit the units you have and the maps you play on. And thanks to the balanced game play, no one will have an unfair advantage.

    Innovative Interface for Xbox 360
Real-time strategy games have traditionally been the PC gamer's domain, but thanks to a new and enhanced version the CommandStick interface implemented in Red Alert 3, Xbox 360 gamers will have a control scheme that offers the speed and efficiency of the keyboard and mouse.

For previous fans of Command and Conquer, Red Alert 3 will provide the same light-hearted game play, but with more units, more strategies, and more fun. Newcomers to the game will soon see what all the fuss and laughter is about.

Crappy game play and overrated cut scenes
    2 / 5.0
Having heard all of the bashings on RTS games for consoles, I was not expecting much. However, this game was impossible to play. I plowed through a dozen missions just because 1) I like Tim Curry and 2) there was a lot of cleavage in the cut scenes. Unfortunately, the novelty soon wore off and I plan on never ever playing this game again.

    Awesome Gaming...
    5 / 5.0
Product received as expected and in the condition expected. The game play was well worth the purchase.

    Good game
    3 / 5.0
This game is very fun if you like real time strategy games. I rated it three stars only because of the online game joining interface. When you search for a game, it's sort of like a crap shoot because it places you in rooms automatically. It would be so much better if you could actually see, pick, and choose which game session you'd like to join. A lot of time is spent searching for games because it just dumps you into a room you don't want to play in.

    Great fun
    5 / 5.0
I have been a long time RTS player on the PC and played and mastered skirmishes in games like AOE, AOM, Star Wars RTS, Red Alert 2 among others. This game stands its own among these. I would say compared to these games on the PC, options like number of factions, or unit types, or even buildings are few. Also resource collection in the Red Alert series is lame (have only one type of resource and an ore collector - most probably there will be a resource crunch throughout). Having said that I would still highly recommend this game for the skill level and the fun factor. The factions are very well thought out and designed. The graphics are great too. This game requires channelling all the resources to the war! So beware and be ready...

    Welcome back commander
    5 / 5.0
Like the other command and conquers on a console , you use the command stick . There are 3 campaines , and each faction gets many units . Unlike other RTS titles water combat is well implimented . Fans of the series should recignize the trade mark silliness and the silly acting . The special powers , are aquired like in Generals .
